| Checking Out Books |
- Students are scheduled to come to the Media Center for book check-out once a week.
- Students may come individually at other times at their teacher's discretion.
- Kindergarten and first grade classes visit the Media Center as classes at designated times each week.
- Grades 2nd-5th come as a whole or in small groups during selected time periods.
- The Media Center staff is always available to help students use the electronic catalog, select books, and locate them on the shelves.

| Book Check-out Guidelines |
- Books are checked out for one week and may be renewed for an additional week.
- Kindergartners and first graders may check out one book at a time.
- Students in grades 2nd-5th may check out two books.

| Overdue Book Policy |
- When a book is overdue, we first discuss the overdue item with the student.
- If the book is not returned within a week (by the next time the student comes to check out a book), we will send an overdue notice home.
- For notice two, the student will come to the Media Center to discuss the overdue book.
- For notices three and above, the student will be informed of the replacement cost of the missing book, and the family will receive a letter concerning the overdue(s) and will be responsible for replacing the missing item(s).

| Damaged Books |
- If a book is damaged, the student will be informed of the cost of replacing the book.
- The student will not be allowed to check out books until the matter has been resolved.
