Checking out books:

Library books may be checked out and taken home for a one week period free of charge. Students are allowed to check out multiple books according to their grade level:

Kindergarten	2 books
1st Grade	5 books
2nd Grade	5 books
3rd Grade	5 books
4th Grade	5 books
5th Grade	5 books

Lost/Damaged books:

If a book is lost or damaged, the Media Center will send a note home with the student that contains the replacement cost for the book. Paying this replacement cost is the responsibility of the parent/parents.

Fines:

The Media Center does not charge fines for overdue books. Overdue notices are sent to the classrooms every two weeks. Students may renew their book(s) for one additional week. If several overdue notices do not result in the return of the book(s) to the Media Center, a bill for the replacement cost of the book(s) will be sent home. Students may not continue checking out books until they return overdue books or pay the replacement cost for lost items.
