Continuum Of Services

Consult	General education with consultation from Special Education staff.
Resource	General education with special education support less than 60% of the time (either in general education classes or in separate location).
Instructional	Special education support 60% or more of school day (either in general education class or in separate location). This level of service may also be referred to as cross categorical.
The district has the following specialized instructional classrooms:
Emotional/Behavior Disorder Program (Primary Grades K-3, Intermediate Grades 4-5, Middle School Grades 6-8, High School Grades 9-12) Communication Disorders Program (Grade K-3) Autism Program (Preschool) Multi-needs Program (Grades K-5) Functional Skills Program (Grades 6-12)
Therapeutic Day School	Child receives specifically designed instruction in a specialized school outside of district. The district must try to meet a student's needs in the least restrictive environment. However if the district is unable to meet the needs of the student, he or she may be placed in a state approved private facility at district cost. In this situation the district provides transportation to and from the facility.
Residential	Child receives specially designed instruction in a special school and lives on the grounds of program. In extreme situation the district can place a student in a residential facility. This would serve as the least restrictive environment with the severity of the nature of the disability that require a residential placement the district is generally working gin cooperation with other public agencies.
Home/ Hospital Program	Child, with extraordinary needs that can't be met by public schools, receives specially designed instruction at home or in hospital. The service is available to students with heath problems, temporary illnesses, or injuries who will be out of school a minimum of ten consecutive instructional days and can provide a written statement from a physician. The homebound teacher will coordinate the homebound instruction with the student's classroom teacher(s) and use the same textbooks the student is using in the classroom if possible. Five hours of direct instruction per week is provided.
