Overview

While in the Career Education class, the students will be learning the different components of their current and future careers.

Synergistics Lab

Synergistics lab is a 13 module laboratory used to develop skills by exploring different hands-on activities.

APPLIED PHYSICS:Students will be learning about sound waves, frequency, how heat affects materials, and light properties.

AUDIO BROADCASTING:This module explores the medium of radio.  Students learn the fundamentals of producing a radio show.

CADD: Computer aided design and drafting covers the basics of drafting by using drafting and design software.

COMPUTER GRAPHICS AND ANIMATION:Students will be learning basic software programs such as morphing and virtual reality.

CREATIVE SOLUTIONS:This module covers different problem solving techniques by Lego manipulation.

ELECTRONICS:Students will be learning about common electronic components and basis electronic circuits.

ENERGY, POWER, AND MECHANICS:This module focuses on energy sources, mechanical advantage, and simple machines.

ENGINEERING TOWERS:Students will learn, design, and build balsa wood towers.

FLIGHT TECHNOLOGY:This module focuses on how airplanes fly, wing design, navigation, and flight simulation activities.

PRACTICAL SKILLS:This module teaches students proper use and safety of common hand tools and investigating various systems within the home.

ROBOTS:Students will learning about the operation and programming of robots.

ROCKETRY AND SPACE:Students will focus on the development of a rocket by constructing their own rocket.

LAB MANAGER:This module provides students with responsibility of maintaining the lab while assisting students and the instructor.

Expectations

Career Education Expectations:

  • Get your supplies from the designated spot and prepare for bell work.
  • If an assignment is not completed in class, the assignment is homework and is due the next class period.
  • If you are absent, it is your responsibility to go to your teacher for make up work.
  • Missing assignment reports will go out as needed.
  • Only when behavior and clean up procedures are completed will the class be dismissed.
  • These procedures plus others will be gone over thoroughly by the teachers.
Consequences if you choose to break a rule are as follows:

First Offense: Verbal Warning

Second Offense:  Detention to 3:15 with written parent contact

Third Offense:  Detention to 3:30 with parent contact via telephone

Any offense thereafter: Dean's Referrals will be issued
