visiting your current school’s PTO/PTA meeting. I will be at Liberty at 6:30 p.m. on April 9th, Creekside at 7 p.m. on April 14th, and Central at 7 p.m. on May 13th.
I will also hold student assemblies at each of these schools in May. I will be at Liberty at 9:30 a.m. on May 9th, at Creekside at 2 p.m. on may 9th, and at Central at 9:30 a.m. on May 16th.
During these assemblies, students will be given a ballot to vote for the mascot of Eichelberger Elementary. I will collect the ballots at the assemblies. The winning mascot will be announced shortly after the last assembly. I am really looking forward to building new relationships with parents, students and staff members during my visits.
As I get to know you, I’d like for you to know a little about me. I have been an Assistant Principal in Plainfield for three years. The first two years I was at Eagle Pointe Elementary School and this past year I have been at Walker’s Grove Elementary School. Prior to my administrative experience, I taught fifth and sixth grade at Aurora Christian for four years. I also taught fifth grade for two years and fourth grade for one year in the Oswego School District at Homestead Elementary.
During my career, I have dedicated myself to making learning fun and enjoyable for the students and staff. I envision the Eichelberger community modeling the Six Pillars of Character: responsibility, respect, citizenship, fairness, caring, and trustworthiness. I look forward to teaching the students “The Six Pillar Shuffle,” which we will dance to throughout the year.
My family and I live in Oswego. My wife Laura and I have two children. T.J. is three years old and Kayla just turned one. As a family we love to attend baseball games, we enjoy taking trips together and we have fun spending time with our extended family. I am a huge fan of baseball and I love playing fast-pitch softball.
I am looking forward to working with the Eichelberger PTA to plan fun activities for our families and staff members. Please contact me if you are interested in joining the PTA board. The Eichelberger community will be meeting this summer to elect our first board of directors. As we get closer to this time, more information will be provided.
In the next few months I will be working on putting together an all-star cast of teachers who will provide excellence in education to the students attending Eichelberger Elementary. As staff is hired we will begin to meet and prepare for the first day of school.
I hope you will continue to visit the web site regularly, as I intend to keep you informed of all of the exciting news that takes place this summer. You are a valuable commodity to helping to build the community at Eichelberger Elementary School. It is through a strong connection of home, school, and community that together we can move forward through this journey of opening a new school.
Sincerely,
Trevor Harris
Principal of Eichelberger Elementary School
