Alternate Choir Concert Assignment:
In an effort to make up the concert going experience, your assignment is to listen and reflect on ten different listening examples. Visit the listed choral websites (you may also find them on the Heritage Grove Choir website) and listen to the various music samples.
Assignment:
- See Ms. Wetzel for approved listening examples and/or websites
- Click on a song link
- Answer reflective questions on EACH piece
- Complete the following questions using complete sentences
- Complete six (6) different pieces
Questions:
- List the title, composer, and performers (1 pt)
- Is this piece in English? Is it in a different language? What language does it use? (1 pt)
- Describe the tempo (speed) of this piece. (1 pt)
- Describe the dynamic choices of the choir. (1 pt)
- If the piece is in English – what is the piece about? If it is in a different language – what do you believe the piece is about? How does the music (melody, dynamics, tempo) reflect the lyrics? Please use at least 4 sentences to answer this question. (3 pt)
- What do you like about this choir’s performance? Why? (2 pt)
- What do you not like about this choir’s performance? Why? (2 pt)
(1 point for complete sentences – total 10 points each)
