Birthday Books

Celebrate a special occasion by sharing your favorite new or gently used book with others! Whether it's your birthday, your teacher's birthday, a celebration of the first day in a new classroom, a holiday, or just because you love to read,giving the school a book is the great way of celebrating! Classrooms and the Media Center are always in need of additional books. This program is in it's third year at Lakewood Falls Elementary and it is sponsored by the PTA.

How the process works:

You select a book and bring it to the "Book Gift Box" in the Media Center. You can give a new book of your choice or a "like-new" book from home. Fill out the form near the gift box and place it inside the book. Follow this process whether your donation is for the Media Center or for the classroom. A PTA representative will customize a label to fit in the purpose for the donation, put the label in the book, and deliver the book to the appropriate recipient. Your name will then be published in the next newsletter.

What books to select:

If you wish to donate a book to the Media Center , a wish list is available from Rita Jump in the Media Center. Please choose a book that will be useful and sturdy for library use. It can be hardback or paperback. If you have questions about book selection, please call the Media Center, 815-439-4560 Ex#333.
If you wish to donate a book to the classroom , please check with your teacher.
