participate in together, as well as a book exchange. PTA will also be
taking orders for make your own tye dye tee shirt featuring a Lakewood
Falls School logo, shirt. Shirts will cost $12/shirt. Tye Dying is
an optional activity on Literacy Night. Families can make matching
shirts or kids can create their own unique color combination. ALL

SAVE THE DATE
The PTA will be hosting an all school roller skating party on, May
17th. We would like to show our appreciation to all of the families
of Lakewood Falls Elementary. We are proud of our fantastic
community, and we would like to thank everyone for supporting the PTA.
Thanks to you, we have earned enough money this year to install
Projectors in all 3rd, 4th & 5th grade classrooms. Our skating party
will take place at USA Skate Center in Romeoville. We have rented the
center out, so admission will be free. Skate rental will be $3.00,
and concessions will be available. We hope to see everyone there!
LITERACY NIGHT BOOK EXCHANGE
Students attending Literacy Night are encouraged to bring in books
that are in ‘gently used’ condition – cover on, no rips, tears or bent
edges. They will receive 1 ‘Book Buck’ for every 2 books donated.
Participating is as easy as:
Bring 2 books (or more)
Receive 1 Book Buck for every 2 books you donate
Redeem your Book Buck(s) for books of your choice before you go home.
You can get 1 book for every 2 books you donate.
Where the books donated go:
Books donated will be made available for faculty to expand classroom libraries.
We are also working with the Plainfield Library where books will be
donated to the Friends of the Library as well as schools within the
area that are in need of books.
A bin will be available at school from April 23-27 if you have books
to donate but do not want any in return. Any books turned in during
the week will not receive a Book Buck.
Other Events:
Faculty-hosted literacy activities throughout the school
Tye Dye Shirts (must be pre-ordered/pre-paid)
This is an excellent way for students to get “new to you” books at
absolutely no cost, while also recycling books that your child no
longer reads or has outgrown.
Books for all ages are welcome!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: PLEASE BE AT THE SCHOOL 5:30
SOFT COVER YEARBOOKS ARE STILL AVAILABLE IN LIMITED SUPPLY

VOLUNTEERING
Your PTA and all the fun social events we sponsor can NOT happen
without volunteers. As we are looking forward to seeing familiar
faces, we are equally exciting to meet new people. Please give the
gift of your time to help everyone enjoy the events with their
families too. The more volunteers we have for events, the more we can
rotate people and everyone and participate in the fun. If you wish to
