LAKEWOOD FALLS PTA COMMITTEE DESCRIPTIONS
AUDIT- Audit's treasure's books after the first three months with a final audit in the summer to close the books or as needed due to a change in treasurer.
AWARDS- Presents awards to the students. Honors volunteers and staff for their hard work and outstanding accomplishments throughout the year, by awarding them certain PTA awards that are presented at the annual C.A.P.E. dinner.
BY LAWS & STANDING RULES - Keeps Lakewood Falls current with National & IL. PTA and reports up-dates to the PTA Executive Committee.

C.A.P.E. REP.- Meets with other reps. from each school in the district for C oordination for A dministration and P arents groups for E ducation effeciency.
CORPORATIONS FOR EDUCATION (C.E.F.)- Collects and redeems labels from products and sends them to the company.
FAMILY PROGRAMS - Organizes different activities for the students and their families like ice cream social, skate night, picture day, and others.

FUNDRAISING- Investigates fundraising ideas to support specific PTA goals and coordinates approved fundraisers.
HELPING HANDS FOOD DRIVE- Coordinates the collection of food from our school to assist families within our district as part of the high school's large Christmas project.
HOMECOMING- Coordinate school spirit week. Including planning, organizing and building of school float for the Plainfield Homecoming parade.

HOSPITALITY- Provides refreshments at all PTA sponsored events and some school functions. Also plans and arranges Teacher Appreciation Week, which is usually the first week of May.
KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION - Helps welcome new students and provides information to guardians.,
MARKET DAY- Coordinates monthly sales by making sure all forms are correct when sent in, arrives on pick-up day a 6:45am to unload the truck and set up the tables, assist customers receiving their orders from 8:15am to 9:30am, one Saturday a month.

MEMBERSHIP - Answers prospective PTA members' questions at various school functions and recruits members.
NOMINATING- Gathers a list of candidates for officer positions, makes up the ballot and tallies the results of the election.
NEWSLETTER- Prepares and distributes the monthly newsletter.

PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT- seeks out new equipment.
ROOM REP.- Organizes parents for each classroom to help with parties and provide baked goods for the hospitality committee when needed. Assist teachers when necessary.
SAFETY- Organizes ways to keep children and the school neighborhood safe, recruits crossing guards for the morning and afternoon shifts and provides ideas for safety programs.

SCHOOL MEMORIES- Takes pictures around school and in the classrooms, develops the film, writes articles for the newspapers and submits pictures with them, works with the Newsletter and Yearbook committees. Compiles a yearly scrapbook for the school.
SCHOOL SPIRIT- Coordinates the sale of spirit-wear and organizes different school spirit events including homecoming.
SCHOOL SUPPLY KITS- Organize, process and distribute orders for classroom supply kits.

VOLUNTEERS COORDINATOR- Collects and tracks volunteer forms and information. Obtains volunteers for school projects when needed (i.e. CAT Test bubbling, Fine Arts Night, etc.)
