Principally Speaking…
Did you hear a big sigh of relief coming from the local schoolhouse recently? It may have been because WE’RE DONE WITH ISAT’S. Now |
we patiently await the results to determine whether we met the goals of our School Improvement Plan.
Speaking of which, there are two important documents on our website that you should be familiar with. The first is our School Improvement Plan. You can access this document at here. The second document that you will find of great interest is our School Improvement Plan Mid-Year Report. This document can be found here. Public schools that are doing great things for kids are not afraid of accountability. Our School Improvement Plan is designed to establish some very specific academic achievement goals. The plan includes some very specific actions that we believe will lead to the acquisition of our goals. The purpose of the mid-year report is to take a look at the actions of the plan, and determine where we are with regard to doing the things we said we would do. After you look at these documents, please feel free to call or e-mail if you have any questions.
I want to congratulate those who were recently honored with CAPE Awards. Our very deserving PTO President, Mrs. Martha Callaghan was honored with the V.I.P Award. Also honored with this award was Mrs. Pat Soto, who spends countless hours volunteering to help make this school a better place for kids. Congratulations to first grade teacher, Suzanne Quigg, and fifth grade teacher, Kelley Budd, for winning honors as Educators of the Year. Finally, congratulations to our school nurse, Sheri Gunderson, who was honored with the Friend of Education Award.
Thanks for all you do to help make Meadow View such an incredible place to work and learn! Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your child’s educational experience even better.
Sincerely,
Donald A. McKinney, Ed.D.
