Description: United States history is a history of many cultures, groups, and individuals coming together to live out their dreams and create a new blend of ideas. This course will look at the development of the United States during the 20th Century through modern times. Students will develop critical thinking and problem solving skills needed to make objective judgments of historical and contemporary issues. In order to accomplish this, students will take a look at the forces and movements that have made the past continuous with and relevant to the present. Additionally, students will sharpen their analytical skills by carefully analyzing, interpreting, and evaluating American documents through both oral and written communication forms. This course will help develop independent thinkers that can use facts and past experiences to create an interpretation of historical and modern events and ideas.

Description: This one semester course illustrates various types of psychological, social, and behavioral issues. Students will develop the ability to perceive the world around them more objectively and understand the roles and interactions of individuals in society. Topics to be studied to develop this awareness will include behavior through personality, intelligence, gender, and psychological disorders.

Description: This one-semester course is a study of various types of social, cultural, behavioral, and legal issues concerning people today. Students will develop the ability to look at the social world around them more objectively. The topics to be studied to develop this awareness include understanding human behavior through structures and functions of society; social problems; race and ethnicity; marriage and the family; and deviant behavior.
