Expectations
Students are expected to be prepared and participate in class everyday while following the rules of both the school and classroom. They are also expected to produce the best possible work they can accomplish.
Class Rules

Students will:
1) be prepared when the bell rings,
2) bring needed supplies and materials to class,
3) not eat food or candy or drinks in class,
4) respect the property and rights of everyone and the school itself,
5) leave all electronics, cell phones, and audio devices turned off in their lockers; they will be confiscated if they are used during class time and a parent/ guardian will be notified.

Tardiness: Tardies will be monitored and regulated according to the school’s policies and procedures.
Attendance: Students are expected to be in class every day that they are not sick. It is the responsibility of the student to get makeup work from me when they are absent from class.
Grading:

An exam may be given at the conclusion of each unit taught. Other assignments will be used to supplement the test scores. A student's grade in my class will be determined as follows:

60%: Assessments (Tests, Quizzes, and Projects)
20%: Practice (Class work, Homework, and Participation)
20%: Final Exam.

Cheating: If a student is caught cheating, he or she will automatically receive a zero for that grade. However, the student may be able to make up this grade by scheduling a time with me to redo the assignment. In that circumstance, the maximum grade allowable for that assignment would be a 50.
Late and Make-up Work: Late work is accepted according to the following stipulations: if the assignment is one day late, half of the credit will be deducted (completed assignments only), after that, no late assignments are accepted. If a student is absent, they may make up the missed assignment(s) for full credit. Students get one make-up day per day of absence to turn in their make-up assignments. It is the student’s responsibility to get their missed assignments from me if they are absent. Any student who misses a test in the scheduled class will be required to make an appointment with the teacher for a make-up day within a reasonable amount of time. Make-up exams are not given during regular class time, most likely it will need to be taken after school.
Grading Scale:

100-90 = A
89-80 = B
79-70 = C
69-60 = D
50-59 = F

Supplies:

Students need to have the following supplies with them each day:

1) three-ring binder (at least 1 inch rings) with 5 dividers,
2) college-ruled loose leaf paper,
3) pens (black or dark blue only),
4) # 2 pencil.
