I think that is a record for personal records. Jacob Arnold ran an incredible 50.3 in the 400 all by himself. Jake's times (10.8, 22.2, 50.3) would rank him 7th, 8th, and 6th in the state according to http://www.illinoispreptoptimes.com/boysaaleaders07.html (last updated 4-17-07) FINALLY ... we have pole vaulters thanks to Coach Wes Wheeler. Chan Bondugola cleared 8-6 and John Kasper cleared 7-0 ... first two vaulters in school history. GREAT. Our sprinters placed 1-2-3 in the 100 and 200, both varsity and fresh/soph. We also placed 1-2-3 in the Varsity 400. Plainfield North will soon be known for their sprinters. On a sad note ... another botched 3rd exchange for our beleaguered 4x1 team. Strangely, the handoff looked fast and perfectly executed, the baton hit the hand but was not passed. Maybe some Stick-Um would help? Our distance runners ran everything and seemed to enjoy it (good job Coach Fahey). We actually had SEVEN 4x400 teams competing ... some without batons. George Frimpong was impressive running 11.9, 23.7, 54.3 (100-200-400), and also triple jumped 38-9. FOUR PRs. Sophomore Johnny Lee threw the shot 40-0 ... in his first competition. We have added two meets to improve late-season fresh-soph opportunities. We will attend the Naperville Central A-B-C Fresh-Soph Meet Tuesday, May 15 (5:00). The A-B-C format allows us to enter three in each event, including relays. In addition, we will attend the Kaneland Freshmen Invitational, Monday, May 21st (4:30).
