We took two buses of athletes ... approximately 70 total.
Several athletes were missed due to the PN Basketball
Banquet.
Oswego has a 162-meter track and no spikes were
allowed. The turns are very sharp.
Sophomore
ANDREW KARAS ... ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Andrew ran a 3200
(20 laps), 1600 (10 laps), 800 (5 laps), and opened the 4x4 ... all in
a period of 100 minutes. Andrew ran 10:22, 4:50, 2:08, and
56.8. Wow! This effort was the biggest and best multi-event
effort of any athlete I've ever coached. Four first place
finishes and almost FOUR miles of racing. Wow!
Our distance runners under coach Kevin Fahey showed
incredible toughness. We wanted a great workout and we got it.
Jacob Arnold looked great winning three races. His
23.8 (200) and 54.4 (400) were much faster than the times indicate.
Sophomore Troy Holler won both hurdles. Our hurdlers
continue to improve.
George Frimpong looked great in the 200 (25.3).
Freshman Kevin Capodice continues to impress 2:13 (800),
26.5 (200), 58.5 (4x4).
Erran Pagan continues make a statement as our fastest
freshman.
Adam Eichelberger, a 6-4 sophomore, ran two excellent 400s
(57.0 & 58.3)
Freshman Brent Shelton is finding his niche (800) running
2:20.3.
In addition to having excellent performances, we
competed with emotion and showed fantastic enthusiasm during the 4x4
... and enthusiasm makes a difference!
Next meet: Lewis
University "Last Chance Meet" (last chance to qualify for Top
Times) ... Saturday at 4:30 ... Varsity level only ... 200 meter track
... yes to spikes.
