Social Work Services include, but are not limited to:

Crisis Intervention
  Mandates (Special Education Population)
  Teaming
  Consultation
  Referral to outside agencies
  Program Development
  Liaison work, linking the home, school and community
  Staff in-services
  Classroom interventions and presentations
  Individual social work services with students
  Issues orientated social work groups which focus on:

  Grief and Loss
  Divorce/Blended Families
  Enhancing Social Skills
  Teenage Pregnancy
  Age appropriate Problem Solving/Coping Skills
  Academic Motivation and Performance
  Anger Management
  New Student Support 

 

Examples of behaviors that may indicate the need for social work services:
failure to complete school work, decline in academic performance, lack of concern with appearance, aggression or impulsiveness, frequent physical complaints, poor peer/adult relationships, substance abuse, irregular school attendance, truancy, pregnancy, depression, suicidal verbalizations/gestures. 


 

Social Work Referral Process: students may refer themselves, be referred by other students, parent(s) and/or guardian(s), school personnel and community agencies.
