Things to Remember for the PSAE MATH Tests
- Get a good night’s sleep and eat a good breakfast.
- Get to the test
on time – early is better!!
- Bring more than
one pencil and make sure they are sharpened. NO MECHANICAL PENCILS!!!!!!
- Bring a calculator you are comfortable
with (make sure you do NOT have programs in the calculator). TI-89 and TI-92 are NOT permitted.
- Wear comfortable clothing.
- Do all the easy problems first; then go back and do the
more difficult questions.
DO NOT SPEND TOO MUCH TIME
ON ONE QUESTION!
- Change answers ONLY if you have a reason for
doing so. Don’t panic, usually your
first answer is correct.
- Check to see that you are putting your answers in the
correct spot on the answer sheet.
- Read the question carefully so that you answer the
question being asked.
- If you don’t know the answer, try to plug the answer
choices into the problem. Work the problem with each answer choice to see
which one makes the statement true.
- If there is not
a picture, draw one.
- Fun facts:
These may or may not be true!
Rarely are the three answer choices that are the same in a row.
Never
are there four answers the same in a row.
